Diploma in screen writing
Over the course of their study, students will have classes in theory of filmmaking and its various specializations, along with hands-on practical instruction. There are multiple projects during the course - some individual, and many in groups. Students are also introduced to works of master filmmakers through screenings and analysis. Frequent Master Classes conducted by practicing filmmakers, round out their learning.
The overriding objective of this programme is to prepare students to become professional screenwriters with a deep understanding of the craft. It empowers them to write on a range of topics in varied genres for Indian as well as international cinema. Students are trained to write for other mass media and narrative formats such as television, documentaries, advertising, corporate films and new media.
The aim of this programme is to impart basic and advanced education through compact, in-depth training in screenwriting. While this specialisation is broadly similar to the two-year specialization programme in terms of screenwriting theory instruction, the intensity, duration and supervision of student output is appropriately modified to fit the one-year duration
